The Viagem Medieval in Terra de Santa Maria officially opens on 28 July with a contemporary performance!
In 2026, the Viagem Medieval celebrates 30 years of history and once again pays tribute to all the builders, creators, and contributors who have made it the largest historical reenactment event in Portugal. It also honors everyone from Santa Maria da Feira who was born and raised alongside the event, representing its future and continuity—the Children of the Viagem.
The Children of the Viagem are all residents of Santa Maria da Feira born from 1996 onwards, the year the Viagem Medieval was first held. They are a generation that has never known Santa Maria da Feira without this cultural project—one that has shaped, transformed, and defined the municipality like no other.
