The ticket price remains the same and free admission for children now encompasses 5 year-olds.

The values of the wristband and daily ticket for access to the venue of the XXVI Viagem Medieval em Terra de Santa Maria have not changed in relation to the 2022 edition and the minimum age subject to access control has been extended from 3 to 6 years. Up until 5 years old, all these children get free admission to the event, which takes place from the August 2nd to the 13th, in the historic centre of Santa Maria da Feira. Students who live or study in the municipality, from key stage 1 to secondary school, receive a wristband and a voucher for free access to the medieval tournament, offered by the Municipality.

The decision to maintain the prices from the last edition, to extend the age of free admission to childhood and to extend the wristband offer to secondary school students is designed to provide visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the Viagem Medieval with their family, in a more demanding economic environment for the public and organisation, also aiming to strengthen the sense of identity and camaraderie for children and youth around a historical recreation that is the heritage of Santa Maria da Feira and Portugal.

The advance purchase of the wristband allows you to save up to 2 euros per unit and the option for the four-wristband promotional packs, in an elegant package, representing savings of up to 8 euros, in addition to the official event pendant offer and discounts on products at the Official Store.

The first pre-sale window for wristbands runs until July 16th (8 euros) and the second from July 17th to the 30th (9 euros), followed by the sale, from July 31st to August 13th (10 euros). During the same period, daily tickets are available for a fixed price of 4 euros (Monday to Thursday) and 5 euros (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays), valid for one entry to the venue.

In addition to the online purchase, through Ticketline, there are 217 points-of-sale in participating shops, where the visitor can purchase the wristband or the daily ticket, also available at physical points-of-sale scattered throughout the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira.

The wristbands purchased online or in the Ticketline point-of-sale network will be exchanged for physical wristbands at any venue entrance, avoiding the need to go to a local ticket office. This and other useful information is detailed here at: www.viagemmedieval.com/acesso-ao-recinto.

For event enthusiasts, the wristband for the Viagem Medieval continues to be a collector’s item, whose colours and graphic designs refer to the theme of each edition.

This year, the wristband designed by the public is red and white, the dominant colours of the flag from Nuno Álvares Pereira, Battle strategist of Aljubarrota, henchman of King João I, Master of Aviz, during several military confrontations, bearing – in the centre and in blue – Pereira’s Cross.

On the other hand, the wristband created for the students, inspired by the coat of arms of the Order of Aviz and the flag of Nuno Álvares Pereira, which features green, red and white as the dominant colours, honouring the king and the kingdom’s constable.

From the 2nd to the 13th of August, 2023, the Viagem Medieval em Terra de Santa Maria will recreate emblematic episodes of the reign of King João I, “Of Fond Memory”, marked by the war against Castile, the defence of independence and the strengthening of the nation, where military achievements such as the Battle of Aljubarrota and the conquest of Ceuta are highlighted.
